A much overdo post and Bella is so nice that she hasn’t even bothered me about it 🙂 Bella (as I call her) or Citizen Rosebud or RQ is a woman of many talents and many names. She is a muse for the community and contributes to Midtown Monthly’s website regularly. She is also the brains behind the Sacramento Fashion Bloggers meet-up which is a buzz about town. You can read an article HERE written by group member Melody Stone of It’s All Happening.
She was kind enough to feature me in two blog posts:
One on her blog the Citizen Rosebud. I encourage you to go look around the site, especially at her own outfit posts because I admire the way she mixes and matches items.
The other post is on her blog Street Style Sacramento with her partner in crime Kerry Dolan of Fashion, Farms and Freedom.
I’ve been really excited about this blog because I love seeing what other Sacramentans are wearing.
And here is the Bella herself:
Love those shades lady.
I’ve been waking up a little earlier because of daylight savings time. Working with second-day hair I attempted a ponytail and I was pretty happy with it. The hair that is wrapped around and hiding the elastic is an extension from a photo shoot. These clip-in extensions are amazing and I recommend working with a stylist to get a color match of your hair.

I wore my big winter purchase to work with skinny jeans. The color and fit are amazing.

Then work, work, work and finally it was time to go home.
I found a GIANT pine cone behind the back tire of my car. Throwing any caution of little critters inside to the wind, I put it in my car to use as decoration.

I came home to find out that Mr. Moose ate half of an empty Southwest cracker package and a whole bag of walnuts, but it least he wasn’t sick.
Mr. Moose ate a whole bag of walnuts!
... but I can't stay mad at him. Look at his little face.
The tweed jacket I’m wearing really goes with the boots and gives it an equestrian vibe. Best of all, the jacket was free. I found it in a bag on the sidewalk. Some girls moving out below me left it and when I tried to give it back they said they left it out on purpose. I guess they thought someone would take it. It was sort of a consolation prize for them smoking under my AC unit all the time and me having to tell them and their friends to knock it off repeatedly.
Anyways, I got home and was so happy because my eBay purchase arrived. The Elle Collections Autumn/Winter 2010, my absolute favorite magazine! The cover is a mosaic made up of runway shots.

Sacramento’s Certified Farmers’ Market (CFM) is definitely something you should take advantage of if you are in the area. The market times and locations can be found on the website http://www.california-grown.com/Market-times.html. I find that the produce tastes better than what you can get at the nearest grocery store. One of the most popular markets is the Sunday CFM under the freeway at the corner of 8th and W. This one is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. It is one of the few that is open year round. There is plenty of parking there and it has the largest selection of the CFM’s in town. In addition to fruits and vegetables you can find fresh flowers, local honey, lavender satchels, meat, fish, eggs and pastries – all from local vendors.
Here are some shots of the flowers:
You wouldn’t believe it but this Sunday I saw the Mayor Kevin Johnson and his fiancée Michelle Rhee. There were a lot of people coming up to him so I snapped a quick photo and went about my merry way.

And here are some of the items I ended up purchasing. Green onions, Asian pears, mandarins, heirloom cherry tomatoes (also grass-fed beef ribs, eggplant, red-leaf lettuce and spinach but they didn’t make it to the photo shoot). If you haven’t tried Asian pears before I highly recommend them.

Today was the second Sacramento Fashion Blogger meet-up. We started out at the Midtown Bazaar perusing the vendor wares while I was apparently perusing the diversity of shoes among the bloggers (see below). Then we moved over to Streets of London to talk shop over ciders and sodas. If you are looking to explore the range of fashion blogs that Sacramento has to offer, look no farther than a pair of feet. The footwear chosen by each blogger reflects a little bit about their blog, so pick a pair of shoes and go explore!
